As attendees line up for the event, Politico reported that seven Democrats, who had previously boycotted Trump’s inaugural in 2017, are now attending this time.
Breaking with precedent, several foreign dignitaries will also be part of this prestigious ceremony.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni confirmed her attendance at the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump, as stated by the Italian Government Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
Argentina’s President Javier Milei, who has participated in various events—including one at the Milken Centre in Washington DC on Sunday—has described Trump’s inauguration as a significant moment in the “global crusade for freedom” and “the clearest evidence that a new era is beginning.”
Other invited leaders include Ecuador's President Daniel Noboa, El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele, and former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who may not attend the inauguration, commented over the weekend that “everything will change” once Trump takes office.
“A different day will dawn over the Western world; four bitter, difficult, painful years, marked by failures, will end: democratic governance,” Orban stated on Friday during a radio program.
India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony and will hold discussions with the new administration's representatives, along with other dignitaries visiting the US for the occasion.
According to the New York Times, tech titans Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos are anticipated to be among those seated at a “position of honour on the dais” at Trump’s inauguration, possibly alongside Apple CEO Tim Cook.
Regular attendees will include President Joe Biden and Jill Biden, former Presidents Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush and Laura Bush, as well as Barack Obama.
While Team Trump had difficulties inviting major celebrities for the 2017 inauguration, numerous top stars are set to perform at the inauguration ball this time, including Grammy-winner Nelly, Lee Greenwood, Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus, Christopher Macchio, and many more notable names.
