A significant moment for Bluekraft Digital Foundation as 'Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery' and 'Mann Ki Baat: Igniting Collective Change' — two important publications that illustrate the governance & leadership of PM @narendramodi — were presented to His Holiness Pope Francis @Pontifex by Anil Antony.
A nonprofit organization based in New Delhi, BlueKraft Foundation aims to empower communities through public policy initiatives and data analytics.
The presentation was carried out by BJP leader and spokesperson Anil Antony, who was part of a distinguished Indian delegation that attended the ordination of Monsignor George Jacob Koovakad as a Cardinal by the Pope in the Vatican.
The Indian delegation, headed by Union Minister George Kurian, also included former Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Congress MP Kodikunnil Suresh, Rajya Sabha MP Satam Singh Sandhu, and BJP leaders Anil Antony, Anoop Antony, and Tom Vadakkan.
Koovakad, aged 51, is affiliated with the Syro-Malabar Catholic Archdiocese of Changanacherry and is the sixth individual from Kerala to hold this esteemed position.
Koovakad has become one of the 21 Cardinals worldwide who play a crucial role in the administration of the Roman Catholic Church and also serve as part of the electoral college responsible for electing a Pope.
Currently based in the Vatican, Koovakad is tasked with managing the international travel schedule of Pope Francis. He joined the Vatican Diplomatic Service in 2006 after completing his training at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy.
Born on August 11, 1973, in the capital of Kerala, Koovakad was ordained as a priest on July 24, 2004, and subsequently underwent training for diplomatic service at the renowned Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy.
In 2006, he commenced his diplomatic journey at the Apostolic Nunciature in Algeria.
He has held positions in Apostolic Nunciatures in Algeria, South Korea, Iran, Costa Rica, and Venezuela.
Notably, in Kerala, there are three Churches that recognize the Pope’s authority — the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, the Latin Church, and the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church.
The last elevation of a Kerala native to the rank of Cardinal occurred in 2012 when Reverend Moran Mar Baselios Cleemis Catholicos, the supreme head of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, was appointed to this high ecclesiastical position.
