Abu Dhabi, March 19 (NationPress) The authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced on Thursday the temporary halt of operations at the Habshan gas facilities due to debris falling from intercepted missiles, condemning Iran for the terrorist assault.
"The UAE has unequivocally condemned the Iranian terrorist attack aimed at the Habshan gas facility and the Bab field, which was effectively neutralized by the nation's air defense systems without any reported injuries," stated the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry emphasized that such attacks represent a serious escalation and breach of international law.
"The UAE maintains its complete right to employ all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty, national security, and interests," the statement continued.
Furthermore, the Ministry highlighted that this terrorist attack on vital infrastructure and oil facilities poses a direct threat to both regional stability and global energy security.
Earlier on Wednesday, the UAE reiterated that assaults on energy facilities associated with Iran's South Pars gas field threaten global energy security as well as regional stability.
The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs remarked that such attacks on energy infrastructure linked to the South Pars field, which extends into Qatar's territory, signify a dangerous escalation.
It was further noted that targeting energy sector infrastructure is a direct threat to global energy security and to the security and stability of the region and its populace, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
The Ministry cautioned that these actions could lead to significant environmental repercussions and endanger civilians, navigation routes, and critical industrial and urban facilities.
The Ministry stressed the imperative of avoiding attacks on critical infrastructure under any circumstances, reaffirming the necessity of upholding international law and maintaining security and stability in the region.
