Caracas, Jan 26 (NationPress) - The acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, stated that the ongoing differences with the United States will be addressed through diplomatic means.
During an event with oil industry workers at the Puerto La Cruz refinery in northeastern Venezuela on Sunday, Rodriguez expressed her commitment to resolving long-standing issues with Washington directly, emphasizing a diplomatic approach referred to as Bolivarian diplomacy, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
She asserted, “We are not afraid, for what should unite us as a people is the assurance of peace and stability in this nation.”
Rodriguez remarked that Venezuela never envisioned a South American capital could face a military assault from a foreign nation, alluding to the January 3 incident when US forces invaded Caracas and forcibly removed President Nicolas Maduro and his spouse.
She urged for unity among Venezuelans and advocated for resolving internal disagreements through local political discussions, free from external interference.
“No more orders from Washington to Venezuelan politicians,” she declared. “Venezuela must address its own issues and conflicts.”
On the previous Saturday, Rodriguez called for dialogue with the opposition to establish “agreements” aimed at achieving peace, just three weeks following the US removal of her former superior, Maduro.
“When it comes to peace in Venezuela, political or partisan differences should not exist,” she stated during a broadcast from the coastal region of La Guaira.
“Despite our disagreements, mutual respect is essential. We must come together and reach consensus,” she concluded.
