28-Year-Old Bangladeshi Woman Deported After Six Years of Illegal Residency in India

New Delhi, Dec 27 (NationPress) A Bangladeshi migrant woman, who had been residing illegally in India for the last six years, has been captured and subsequently deported, as announced by the Delhi Police's Anti-Narcotics unit on Friday.
The Delhi Police reported that the 28-year-old woman, originally from Narail district in Bangladesh, entered the country six years ago and lived with forged documents in major cities such as Delhi and Mumbai.
The South West District division confirmed the deportation of an illegal migrant named Sonali Shekh, who hails from Singasholpur village in Narail district.
"She had been residing in India for six years and was based in metropolitan areas like Mumbai and Delhi," they added.
This deportation action aligns with a nationwide initiative aimed at identifying and expelling illegal migrants.
States governed by the BJP, including Assam and Maharashtra, have already taken firm steps against illegal entries by Bangladeshi nationals, having recently deported several individuals.
The Assam government, led by Himanta Biswa Sarma, recently deported five Bangladeshi nationals, while the Maharashtra administration has initiated a crackdown on illegal migrants and called for their removal from Mumbai and surrounding districts.
"Daily, between 10 to 20 Bangladeshi individuals attempt to enter India due to the economic difficulties in their homeland. We are enforcing stringent measures to prevent such infiltration," remarked the Chief Minister of Assam.
Bangladesh is facing significant political and social upheaval, particularly following the ousting of its Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The situation has worsened under Mohammad Yunus, whose administration has struggled to manage the nation’s economy, resulting in a severe downturn.
