Hyderabad, Sep 30 (NationPress) The Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency is preparing for upcoming bye-elections, with a total of 3,99,000 voters identified in the final electoral roll published on Tuesday.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sudharshan Reddy noted that the updated rolls, referencing July 1, 2025, show 2,07,382 male voters, 1,91,593 female voters, and 25 third-gender voters.

The gender ratio in this constituency stands at 924 women per 1,000 men.

Additionally, the electorate includes 6,106 voters aged 18–19, 2,613 senior citizens over 80 years, and 1,891 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

Among the PwD voters, 519 are visually impaired, 667 have locomotive disabilities, 311 are speech or hearing impaired, and 722 fall into other categories. There are also 95 overseas voters.

The draft rolls released on September 2 recorded a total of 3,92,669 voters. After adding 6,976 new names and removing 663, the total count rose to 3,98,982. Including service voters, the electorate now totals 3,99,000.

Voting for the bye-election will take place across 407 polling stations in 139 locations within the constituency, with an average of 980 voters per station.

The CEO has urged voters to check their names in the final electoral rolls and to submit any claims or objections by the nomination deadline.

Last month, the Election Commission conducted a rationalization of polling stations, with integrated draft electoral rolls released on September 2. Claims and objections were accepted until September 17 for the final rolls.

In the 2023 Assembly elections, the constituency had 3,85,287 voters, marking an increase of 3.49% in voter registration.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed Central Observers to supervise the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar and bypolls in eight states, including Telangana.

The vacancy in Jubilee Hills arose following the death of sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in June.

In the 2023 elections, he achieved a hat-trick by defeating former Indian cricket captain and Congress candidate Mohammed Azharuddin by 16,337 votes.

In a multi-cornered contest, Gopinath received 80,549 votes while Azharuddin garnered 64,212 votes. BJP’s L. Deepak Reddy finished third with 25,866 votes, and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), led by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, came in fourth with just 7,848 votes.

The BRS has nominated Gopinath’s wife, Maganti Sunitha, as its candidate, while the Congress and BJP have yet to announce their selections.
