Bengaluru, Feb 7 (NationPress) The decision made by the Karnataka High Court on Friday to dismiss the petition for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the purported Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scandal serves as a substantial advantage for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is designated as accused number one in the matter, just prior to the Budget session.

This ruling arrives amidst the opposition BJP's jibes suggesting that his administration will conclude by November, providing him with essential relief and reinforcing his standing within the party.

The ruling permits CM Siddaramaiah to confront the opposition with renewed confidence during the Budget session, anticipated to occur in the first week of March. The Congress-led administration has been under fire for allegedly shortening the session's duration to evade discussions regarding the MUDA scandal.

Nonetheless, the BJP maintains that the High Court's ruling does not exonerate CM Siddaramaiah or declare him innocent in this case.

"I acknowledge that this ruling offers relief to CM Siddaramaiah. However, the allegations against him remain intact. We will await the Lokayukta report and act accordingly," stated BJP state President B.Y. Vijayendra.

In response to the recent developments, Home Minister G. Parameshwara noted that the High Court supported the Lokayukta's investigation, deeming it suitable for the MUDA case.

Parameshwara, a leading figure from the Dalit community and a potential candidate for the CM position should a leadership shift occur, stressed that there were no valid reasons to transfer the case to the CBI. "The court has placed its trust in the Lokayukta institution and issued its ruling accordingly," he remarked.

"The court’s decision indicates that the Lokayukta's investigation was carried out appropriately, and there is no justification for dismissing its findings. This is a favorable ruling, and confidence should be placed in the Lokayukta's investigation. Trust in the process is crucial when an institution conducts an inquiry," he added.

"If they wish, they can appeal to the Supreme Court. Our legal team will examine the case and respond as necessary. This exemplifies how judgments from the High Court and Supreme Court uphold fairness and justice," he concluded.

In light of the court's decision, a relieved CM Siddaramaiah has commenced extensive pre-budget discussions with various departments.
