Bengaluru, Jan 29 (NationPress) Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara declared on Wednesday that he would remain steadfast by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in any circumstances regarding the High Court's reserved judgment concerning the transfer of the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

CM Siddaramaiah has been identified as the primary accused in the MUDA case, with his wife being the second accused.

When asked by journalists in Bengaluru if he would support CM Siddaramaiah irrespective of the situation, Parameshwara replied, “There is no question about it.”

“Let the judgment be delivered. We will only know the outcome once it is announced. Since the decision is pending, we must wait and see. After the order is issued, we will determine the next steps,” he continued.

When questioned about the collective decision of the MLAs to support CM Siddaramaiah and their claims of political motivations behind the actions against him, Parameshwara stated, “We have consistently asserted that the MUDA case is politically driven and that the BJP is pursuing it with ulterior motives.”

On the proposal for a second airport in Bengaluru, to be situated in Tumakuru—his home district—Parameshwara remarked, “We have requested that the second Bengaluru airport be established in Tumakuru district. This will be advantageous for the northern Karnataka region. Tumakuru acts as a gateway to 22 districts in the state, all of which will gain from it, and the airport can be conveniently linked to Bengaluru International Airport at Devanahalli. However, we need to evaluate the technical aspects.”

Regarding the extension of Metro services to Tumakuru, he noted, “A company from Hyderabad is working on the Detailed Project Report (DPR). It has not been submitted yet. Once we receive it, we will proceed with the project through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The government will not invest any funds. After the DPR is completed, we will seek approval from the Central government.”

On whether party leaders would continue discussing leadership despite warnings, Parameshwara mentioned, “This applies to both MLAs and ministers. When the party issues directives, they must be adhered to. We will also notify those who persist in publicly discussing party matters.”

He added, “The high command consults all party MLAs before arriving at a decision on leadership issues. Typically, this protocol is observed. After collecting opinions, factors like majority support and other considerations are deliberated before making an official announcement.”
