New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) The government announced on Tuesday that Aadhaar authentication transactions experienced a remarkable 8.47% year-on-year growth, reaching 231 crore in November. This marks the highest number of transactions to date for this fiscal year (FY26), as reported by the IT Ministry.
In October, the figures were 219.51 crore. The increasing utilization of Aadhaar highlights its role as a facilitator for effective welfare delivery and the voluntary uptake of services by various providers, according to the ministry's statement.
This trend reflects not only the growing reliance on Aadhaar but also the expansion of the digital economy in India.
Aadhaar's Face Authentication solutions are also gaining consistent traction.
During November, approximately 60% of the Digital Life Certificates (DLCs) generated by pensioners utilized Aadhaar face authentication.
This AI-driven face authentication system of UIDAI operates seamlessly on both Android and iOS platforms.
The ministry noted that it allows users to verify their identity with a simple face scan, ensuring ease of use while maintaining high security standards.
In total, 28.29 crore face authentication transactions were conducted in November 2025, compared to 12.04 crore transactions during the same period in 2024.
Moreover, e-KYC transactions in November also saw significant growth, with 47.19 crore transactions recorded, reflecting an increase of over 24% compared to November 2024.
The ministry stated, “Aadhaar e-KYC service continues to be a catalyst in enhancing customer experience and simplifying business operations across sectors including banking and non-banking financial services.”
Additionally, UIDAI has deactivated more than 2 crore Aadhaar numbers associated with deceased individuals as part of a nationwide initiative to ensure the accuracy and currency of its database. This clean-up project is essential to prevent identity fraud and curb the misuse of Aadhaar numbers for welfare benefits.
UIDAI is also looking to collaborate with banks and other financial institutions for similar data collection efforts in the future.
