Chandigarh, Nov 25 (NationPress) The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has expressed strong disapproval of the Mann administration in Punjab, accusing it of wasting vast sums of taxpayer money on a meaningless Vidhan Sabha session in Anandpur Sahib. They argue that this occasion could have been utilized to improve the infrastructure in the revered city.
In a press release, Akali Dal MLA Ganieve Kaur Majithia stated that the AAP government missed a significant opportunity to enhance Anandpur Sahib's infrastructure during the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, instead opting to engage in political games on such a sacred occasion.
She criticized the AAP government for squandering millions on a single-day session that yielded no productive results.
According to her, this expenditure was solely for the benefit of a tent owner.
Kaur expressed disbelief at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's behavior, noting that instead of collaborating with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for a religious event, he chose to attack the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
She pointed out that past administrations have utilized such historic moments to introduce significant projects to the state.
For example, during the 300th Khalsa Sajna Diwas in 1999, the then Parkash Singh Badal government invested Rs 300 crore to establish 'Virasat E Khalsa.'
In addition, the Guru Gobind Singh Bathinda refinery project, worth Rs 22,000 crore, was brought to Punjab, along with the establishment of Guru Granth Sahib World University in Fatehgarh Sahib.
The Akali leader concluded that in contrast, the AAP government has squandered public funds and engaged in dirty politics merely to appease its leader Arvind Kejriwal.
She asserted that the people of Punjab would not forget Mann's cheap theatrics and would hold the party accountable for misusing public resources.
