New Delhi, Jan 22 (NationPress) A delegation from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, headed by ABVP National General Secretary Virendra Singh Solanki, convened with the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram and the Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar. The delegation presented a memorandum addressing various significant concerns and urged the government for immediate action.
During the presentation to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the ABVP put forth demands such as increasing the number of educators to enhance school education in tribal regions, emphasizing the development of infrastructure like buildings and playgrounds, establishing vocational, technical, and agricultural training facilities in these areas, and launching initiatives like the National Migrant/Overseas Scholarship Program.
Furthermore, the memorandum directed to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment called for the regularization of the NFOBC (National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes) scholarship and addressed implementation challenges. It also sought to ensure that Braille software and books are readily accessible for visually impaired students in all educational institutions, along with the fulfillment of vacant positions reserved for OBC, SC, and ST categories in important educational establishments throughout the country.
ABVP National General Secretary, Virendra Solanki, emphasized that the ABVP is dedicated to fostering social harmony and uplifting all societal segments.
“Our objective is to motivate the government to undertake decisive measures to support students from all communities, facilitating their integration into the mainstream while safeguarding cultural heritage. We have appealed to the government for prompt action regarding the demands outlined in the memorandum. Both ministries engaged in thorough discussions with the ABVP delegation regarding all issues and committed to swift and affirmative responses to the demands,” he remarked.
