Speaking at the National Students’ Convocation of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, President Murmu encouraged students to recognize that their duties go far beyond mere financial accounting.
“As cost accountants, you possess a unique opportunity to aid in India's evolution towards a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” she stated, expressing her belief that the education provided by ICMAI will prepare them to be not just successful professionals, but also nation-builders.
The President highlighted that accountants have always held a respected position in society due to the intrinsic connection between accounting and accountability.

President Murmu commended the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) for its pivotal role in strengthening the Indian economy, making it one of the most robust globally.
“Although its contributions often go unnoticed, experts in economic and corporate history recognize the vital role of cost and management accountants in our industrial advancement,” she commented.
The President pointed out that ICMAI has been a partner in the nation’s development by providing invaluable support to policymakers, as well as central and state governments, in formulating cost-effective strategies, systems, and manuals.
