Kolkata, April 12 (NationPress) During an election rally in the Nandakumar Assembly region of East Midnapore, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared on Sunday that individuals who oppose 'Vande Mataram' should consider leaving the nation.
"I have traveled from the revered land of Lord Ram, Mahadev, and Krishna to this region, which resonates with our national song and anthem. Those who oppose Vande Mataram should exit the country," he proclaimed.
In his address, the UP Chief Minister paid homage to notable Bengali figures like Swami Vivekananda, Khudiram Bose, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, highlighting their significant contributions to the spirit of the nation.
"Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee emphasized that a nation cannot operate under two laws, and this dream has now materialized under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The repeal of Article 370, a long-held ideological goal, has finally come to fruition. Under the leadership of Modi, our nation is achieving unprecedented progress," he stated.
Adityanath also criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal for the escalating political violence in the state.
He remarked, "This region has birthed numerous scientists and luminaries, including Rabindranath Tagore. Yet, the TMC has turned this land into one of division and atrocities. Their appeasement politics knows no bounds, facilitating infiltration for electoral gain. The TMC government is neglecting border security efforts, using infiltrators as a vote bank instead."
He also condemned the political violence across the state and expressed harsh criticism for the TMC's response to such incidents, particularly referencing the tragic RG Kar Medical College rape and murder case.
"Mamata Didi remained silent on the dreadful RG Kar Medical College incident, as TMC goons were allegedly involved. She consistently turns a blind eye to the atrocities committed against women and the Hindu community," he added.
