The government has set up Jan Aushadhi Stores where these medicines are sold for much less than branded pharmaceutical products, without sacrificing quality.

Generic medicines, being more affordable than their branded counterparts, are equally effective, making them a practical choice for those requiring essential treatments.

The primary aim of this campaign is to raise awareness about the availability of these affordable alternatives, helping the public understand that generic medicines are just as dependable as their branded equivalents. The initiative seeks to provide medicines to the general population at prices 50% to 80% less than traditional market rates.

In a conversation with IANS, Durgesh Soni, a recipient of the programme, shared: “I am saving nearly 50% on my medicines. This initiative has made healthcare more affordable for us.”

Omkar Soni, another local resident, expressed his appreciation, stating, “This scheme is a huge benefit. The medicines are far cheaper here. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing fantastic work, and I want to extend my thanks for this initiative.”

Nalin Nagaich, the shop operator, highlighted the scheme's mission: “Customers visit here regularly due to the low prices of medicines. The aim is to assist the common people, and Jan Aushadhi is fulfilling that role. It has significantly eased the financial strain on individuals. I’ve been working here for three months, and we strive to continue serving the public by providing everything needed at affordable prices.”
