Dumka (Jharkhand), March 19 (NationPress) Residents of Dumka district in Jharkhand are now able to acquire medicines at affordable prices from a pharmacy center established under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana, providing vital support to economically disadvantaged patients.

Those benefiting from the initiative expressed their appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for facilitating access to essential medications at significantly lower costs.

The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana, launched by the Narendra Modi-led Union government, aims to ensure that quality medicines are available to the economically weaker sections of society at affordable rates.

This initiative has brought considerable relief to the underprivileged, with medications at Jan Aushadhi centers typically costing less than half of their market prices.

The effectiveness of these medications has bolstered public trust in the program.

Visitors to the center highlight that the initiative is particularly advantageous for low-income families, as it enables them to save money while guaranteeing access to quality healthcare.

Previously, the high expense of medications often hindered treatment for many, making it challenging to acquire necessary drugs from private pharmacies.

With the establishment of Jan Aushadhi centers in Dumka, affordable medications are now readily available.

Rajesh, who visited the center to obtain medicines for his son, shared with IANS that he previously spent exorbitant sums at private pharmacies. “Now the same medicines are available at less than half the previous price at the Jan Aushadhi center,” he remarked.

He also noted that the medications are proving effective. “This initiative by Prime Minister Modi is incredibly beneficial for the less fortunate. Many could not afford medications due to financial limitations, but now they can,” Rajesh stated.

Another beneficiary, Vishwajeet, mentioned that medications at the center are considerably cheaper than those available in the market. “We previously had to spend significantly at private pharmacies, but now we can get medicines at lower prices. This scheme is extremely advantageous for the poor,” he commented.

Sharmila Kumari, who manages the Jan Aushadhi center, stated that the scheme has positively impacted a vast number of individuals in the vicinity. “In my view, the scheme has been remarkably successful. Medications that cost thousands in the market are available here for around Rs 200,” she added.

She further noted that a growing number of people visit the center daily for medications as awareness about this central scheme continues to expand.
