Jabalpur, March 12 (NationPress) The Jan Aushadhi Kendras in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur are providing significant assistance to the local population by delivering medicines at an astonishing 70-80 percent discount. This initiative, part of the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), has emerged as a crucial resource for thousands of patients in need of affordable and quality healthcare.
The Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Jabalpur is teeming with activity as numerous patients visit to acquire essential medications.
Pharmacist Prashant Chaurasia stated: "On the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we inaugurated the Kendra here, providing discounts up to 80 percent on medicines. We witness a high influx of hospital patients daily, and even local shop owners and doctors prefer to purchase medicines from us."
Customers are lauding this initiative for its role in making essential medications affordable.
In an interview with IANS, Vinod Thakur, a frequent customer, remarked: “Medicines that cost Rs 40 elsewhere are available here at a much lower price. (PM) Modi ji has done a commendable job for the underprivileged, and this scheme is truly a blessing, enhancing healthcare access, especially for those unable to afford high-priced medications.”
Manish Soni, another customer, shared how the Kendra has positively impacted his life.
"Previously, multivitamins for my daughter were priced at Rs 300-350, but now I can obtain them here for just Rs 7. The savings on items like Chavanprash and other supplements are substantial, and I appreciate this initiative. The quality is exceptional, making healthcare affordable for everyone."
Paras, another satisfied customer, expressed his gratitude, saying, "The medications we receive from the Modi government are an incredible bargain. Outside, these same medicines would cost around Rs 400-500, but here, they are only priced at Rs 150-200. Why go anywhere else? This initiative by the Modi government is remarkable, providing medicines at such low prices. We should always take advantage of these affordable options.”
The PMBJP scheme, launched in 2016, aims to offer high-quality generic medicines at significantly lower prices, ensuring that essential healthcare is accessible for all citizens. This year, the initiative achieved a significant milestone by selling Jan Aushadhi medicines worth Rs 1,000 crore.
