Chennai, Dec 15 (NationPress) The AIADMK executive council gathering took place at the Shrivaaru Venkataachalapathy Palace Hall in Vanagaram, Chennai, on Sunday, where sixteen resolutions were officially adopted.

Among these resolutions, the party expressed its determination to reinstate Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS) as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in the year 2026.

This session, overseen by AIADMK Presidium Chairman Tamil Magan Hussain, witnessed the participation of 2,523 general and executive committee members, alongside 1,000 special invitees.

During the general assembly, heartfelt condolences were extended for the passing of senior Congress leader E.V.K.S. Elangovan. Tributes were also offered to industrialist Ratan Tata, CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, former Karnataka Chief Minister S.M. Krishna, and late actor Delhi Ganesh.

Another resolution called for the Central government to halt the construction of a tungsten mine near Melur, Madurai and criticized the Tamil Nadu government for its inability to stop the project despite public outcry.

The AIADMK also condemned the state government’s contradictory position regarding the cancellation of the NEET exam and urged the Central government to revise the Constitution to return education authority to the state level.

The Tamil Nadu government faced criticism for neglecting the essential needs of individuals affected by Cyclone Fengal.

The party expressed concern over escalating prices and high taxes, asserting that these factors are gravely impacting the livelihoods of people in Tamil Nadu.

Another resolution criticized the DMK government for the declining law and order situation and its failure to fulfill electoral commitments.

The party urged the central government to proclaim the Thirukkural as a national book and to establish Tamil as the official language for legal matters in the Chennai High Court. Furthermore, it advocated for laws to be designated in English rather than Hindi.

The DMK government was admonished for squandering funds on projects such as Formula 4 racing and memorials for pens. The AIADMK also denounced the cessation of the Kudimaramathu Scheme.

The lack of advancements on the Godavari-Cauvery, Parambikulam-Aliyar, and Pandiyar-Punnambuzha irrigation projects was also criticized.

A resolution called for the DMK government to conduct a caste-based census and condemned its inaction regarding the release of Muslim prisoners.

The AIADMK urged the central government to guarantee equitable financial distribution, noting that while Tamil Nadu significantly contributes to the central treasury, it receives less than one-fourth in return. This inequity hampers development initiatives within the state.

The AIADMK executive council reaffirmed its dedication to addressing the concerns of the populace in Tamil Nadu and reiterated its ambition to reclaim power in the upcoming 2026 state elections.
