Hyderabad, June 1 (NationPress) The President of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), Moulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, announced on Sunday that the protests will persist until the Central government revokes the Waqf Amendment Act.
He made this statement during a significant dharna organized by the AIMPLB at Dharna Chowk, Indira Park in Hyderabad.
Various leaders from Muslim organizations and scholars from all sects spoke at the protest, which saw a considerable turnout, including many women.
Speakers expressed their unwavering support for the AIMPLB's ongoing national movement against the Waqf Act.
Moulana Rahmani emphasized that the Waqf Act is not solely a concern for Muslims; it poses a threat to all minorities and advocates of justice. “This matter pertains to the safeguarding of the Constitution, as the government seeks to undermine it through the Waqf Act,” he remarked.
He highlighted the solidarity shown by Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians who also joined the protest against the Waqf Act.
The floor leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in the Telangana Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, accused the government of implementing the Waqf Act to destroy Waqf properties, insisting that the Modi government must revoke this 'black law'.
Owaisi mentioned that the 25 crore Muslims in India are facing challenging times and urged them to remain resilient and strengthen their faith for success. He called for unity among Muslims and their participation in AIMPLB's protest initiatives.
He assured the AIMPLB of AIMIM's support in this struggle against the Waqf Act, affirming that Muslims would persist in their fight for rights within the framework of the Constitution and democracy.
