Ajit Pawar's Camp Dismisses Any Chance of Reconciliation with Sharad Pawar's NCP Faction

Mumbai, Jan 3 (NationPress) The Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has definitively ruled out any possibility of reconciling with the Sharad Pawar faction, asserting their decision to maintain their alliance with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the national level and MahaYuti within Maharashtra.

Sunil Tatkare, the Maharashtra unit chief of NCP, informed reporters, "The party is aligned with the NDA at the Centre and in MahaYuti in the state. Under Ajit Pawar's leadership, the NCP has achieved a significant victory in Maharashtra. Our agenda and position established in July 2023 is quite evident. We will persist with the NDA and MahaYuti. There are no changes in our stance."

When questioned about the possibility of a reunion if the NCP-SP were to alter their current political stance regarding non-alignment with the BJP-led MahaYuti, Tatkare responded, "Politics is devoid of 'ifs' and 'buts', and I cannot address such inquiries."

He further emphasized, "Family and politics are entirely distinct matters."

Tatkare's comments followed a day after Ashatai Pawar, Ajit Pawar's mother, visited the sacred town of Pandharpur and expressed her desire for the reunion of the Pawar family.

"I wish for the differences within the Pawar family to be resolved swiftly. I hope Pandurang answers my prayers," she stated during her media interaction.

Ashatai Pawar's remarks came just days after Ajit Pawar, accompanied by his family and senior party officials, visited his estranged uncle Sharad Pawar's residence on December 12 to celebrate his birthday.

NCP working president Praful Patel mentioned on Thursday, "Sharad Pawar is our deity. We hold him in high regard. If the Pawar family unites, it would bring us immense joy. I consider myself part of the Pawar family."

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has divided into two factions following Ajit Pawar's departure to form his own group, while his uncle Sharad Pawar continues to lead the NCP-SP faction.
