The tragic incident occurred on Thursday, resulting in the stabbing death of a 21-year-old man on Sindhu Farm Road within the jurisdiction of the Jaitpur police station in southeast Delhi. The victim has been identified as Krishna Sahu, a resident of Shukra Bazar Road, Hari Nagar Extension.
Authorities revealed that of the 10 arrested, five are adults who face formal charges, while the other five are juveniles. The latter group has been presented to the Juvenile Justice Board in accordance with legal protocols.
The recently detained adult suspects are identified as Manish Kumar, known as Mangal, aged 20, and Amit, referred to as RP, aged 21. Kumar, a school dropout who completed up to Class 10, resides in Faridabad, Haryana, and works at an AC pipe factory in Kasna, Noida. He is originally from Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Amit hails from the Meethapur area of Delhi and is also employed at an AC copper pipe factory in Noida, with roots in Patna, Bihar.
Police reported that a call to the Police Control Room (PCR) at approximately 11:18 PM on January 15 alerted them to a physical assault on Dharamshala Road, Jaitpur. A police team promptly arrived and found three individuals injured due to sharp weapon attacks.
Investigations indicated that the violence stemmed from a personal dispute between two groups linked by a mutual acquaintance. The main assailant, identified as Deepak, had reportedly been harassing the complainant, Prince (19), via social media prior to the incident.
Under the guise of a ‘reconciliation meeting’, the victims were invited to meet the opposing group around 11:00 PM. However, a fierce argument erupted, escalating into a violent clash. The attackers allegedly used knives before fleeing.
Krishna Sahu suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest, shoulder, and back. He was quickly transported to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was declared dead upon arrival. Another victim, Sunny (21), sustained injuries to the abdomen and thigh and remains under treatment, while Prince (19) sustained minor injuries.
The crime scene was examined by forensic teams, who gathered vital evidence, and a formal case is being registered.
On the same Thursday, two separate stabbings resulted in fatalities in Delhi, with investigations ongoing in both cases.
In a related incident, a notorious criminal, identified as Mukesh (around 40 years old), was found fatally stabbed in the Kalyanpuri area of East Delhi. Police discovered him lying in a pool of blood near a public toilet in Block-18, Kalyanpuri. He was rushed to the nearby Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
East District Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Dhania indicated that a murder case has been filed. Efforts are underway to identify the attackers through nearby CCTV footage, while investigators question the deceased's family to piece together the events leading to the crime.
The victim's wife, Monica, stated that Mukesh had left home after dinner around 10:00 PM on Wednesday. The family received word an hour later that he had sustained injuries near the public toilet in Block-18.
Mukesh's uncle, Raju, informed that the family learned he had been stabbed and taken to the hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The family is urging the police to take stringent action against those responsible.
In another violent episode, a 23-year-old man named Ranjan was fatally stabbed on Wednesday night in the JJ Colony area of Bawana, North Delhi.
These recent events come on the heels of a wave of stabbings that took place on New Year's Eve, during which three individuals were killed in quick succession across Delhi's Adarsh Nagar, Mongolpuri, and Sultanpuri areas. Victims included a tailor, a rickshaw driver, and a 15-year-old boy, raising alarms about street violence and law enforcement in the nation's capital.
