Amit Shah Praises Chhattisgarh Administration for Their Fight Against Maoist Activities

Jagdalpur, Dec 16 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday praised the Chhattisgarh administration for its steadfast efforts in confronting Maoism in the state.
While addressing a gathering in Jagdalpur, Shah acknowledged the collaborative strategy employed by the state government in conjunction with central agencies to effectively address the issue.
During his visit, the Home Minister engaged with surrendered Maoists and their families, providing them with reassurance and assistance. He highlighted the government's commitment to rehabilitating individuals affected by violence and called for united efforts to eradicate Maoism from the area.
"The Central government, working alongside the Chhattisgarh administration, will provide comprehensive support to families impacted by Maoism. I urge everyone to join efforts with the ongoing campaigns by both governments to eliminate this threat," he stated.
Shah pointed out the advancements made in the past year, noting a decrease in Maoist activities, including the neutralization of several top leaders. "Significant actions have been taken under the guidance of the Chhattisgarh government, utilizing a well-planned strategy. I am hopeful that we will achieve the complete eradication of Maoism from the nation by March 31, 2026," he declared.
He specifically commended the leadership of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, along with the dedicated efforts of the state police and other security forces. "The combined efforts of the Chhattisgarh government, police, and security agencies have established a solid foundation for this campaign. I assure you all that the aim of a Maoism-free state will be accomplished within the designated timeframe," he reiterated.
HM Shah mentioned that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi entrusted him with the Home Ministry in 2019, he believed that those engaged in armed struggles should be given a chance to lay down their arms, surrender, and live peacefully. "As a result of our initiatives, 20 peace accords were signed in the northeast and 9,000 militants surrendered," he stated.
He further added that PM Modi approved 15,000 homes for surrendered Maoists under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, while the National Dairy Development Board would provide at least one cow or buffalo to these families, enabling them to earn between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 monthly.
"Today in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, I met individuals affected by Maoism and those who laid down their weapons to join the mainstream. Maoism has not only deprived a significant segment of our population of their fundamental rights for decades but has also inflicted immense suffering on their lives. The Maoists, who instill fear and greed in the minds of youth and lead them towards violence, are the greatest adversaries of society. Our government, under the leadership of Modiji, is dedicated to the empowerment and comprehensive development of people affected by Maoism and the youth who have renounced violence and embraced the mainstream," HM Shah shared on his X handle.
