New Delhi, Jan 22 (NationPress) The Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, is set to grace the ‘Uttar Pradesh Day’ celebrations as the Chief Guest on January 24 in Lucknow. During this event, he will introduce a significant initiative aimed at promoting the local cuisine of each district in the state, as stated by an official on Thursday.
At the venue, Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, the esteemed Union Home Minister Amit Shah will officially launch the ‘One District One Cuisine’ (ODOC) scheme.
“This initiative will focus on identifying the unique traditional dishes of every district in Uttar Pradesh, enhancing their quality, branding, and market accessibility. The goal is to ensure that local flavors receive recognition not just regionally, but at national and global levels,” the official statement elaborated.
During the ‘Uttar Pradesh Day’ festivities, HM Amit Shah will also initiate the Sardar Patel Industrial Zone Programme.
Furthermore, he will present accolades to districts that have excelled under the Uttar Pradesh Government’s CM YUVA (Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Yojana) scheme and will confer the Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman for 2025-26.
On Thursday, the Union Home Minister participated in the “Centenary Year Celebration 2026” organized by the “Akhil Vishwa Gayatri Parivar” in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, commemorating the birth centenary of Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami remarked on X, “I had the privilege to be part of the 'Centenary Year Celebration 2026' at the esteemed presence of the Hon'ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri @AmitShah ji at Baidyanath Island, Haridwar.”
