Chandigarh, April 28 (NationPress) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia shared a video on Monday showing the brother of National Security Act (NSA) detainee Amritpal Singh using drugs, claiming that Amritpal merely pretended to oppose drugs while actually engaging in drug smuggling and maintaining close ties with gangsters.
In the footage, Amritpal's brother Harpreet is seen rolling a joint inside a vehicle.
Majithia also presented another video featuring Amritpal’s father, Tarsem Singh, who alleged that drugs had been planted on Harpreet.
“This video clearly indicates that Harpreet is a recurring drug offender, and his father, Tarsem, is lying to defend him despite being a baptised Sikh,” he stated.
Additionally, Majithia released a separate video where Tarsem Singh criticizes both his sons, Amritpal and Harpreet.
The Akali leader took a jab at Tarsem Singh, claiming it has become evident that an earlier audio he released, in which Amritpal admitted to being involved in a Rs 22 crore robbery orchestrated by notorious gangster Jaipal Bhullar, was indeed factual.
“Everything I have stated has been corroborated by Sukhpreet Hairnau, whose brother Gurpreet Harinau was murdered at Amritpal’s command. The police investigation has also uncovered that two drug addicts—Anmolpreet and Navjot Neeta—who killed Gurpreet had connections with gangsters Arsh Dalla and Lawrence Bishnoi, indicating Amritpal’s collusion with gangsters,” he added.
Majithia criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for not taking action against Amritpal in the Gurpreet Harinau murder case or the UAPA case concerning alleged political assassinations.
“In fact, the AAP government has aided Amritpal by prolonging his NSA detention. Likewise, no serious investigation is being conducted into the Rs 22 crore robbery attributed to Jaipal Bhullar, despite Amritpal claiming he has knowledge of its whereabouts,” he remarked.
He noted that the gold stolen by Jaipal remains unrecovered, yet Amritpal, who asserted he knows its location, has not been interrogated.
Majithia also disclosed a video showing Mandi Board chief engineer Jatinder Singh Bhangu escorting Amritpal from the gurdwara in Moga where he surrendered to the police.
“This evidence confirms Bhangu’s involvement in providing refuge to Amritpal when he went underground post the Ajnala incident, and the Punjab Police has yet to take any action in this matter. Instead of addressing this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently shared a stage with Bhangu at an official event,” he stated.
