Anant Singh Supports Nishant Kumar for Bihar CM; Backs Samrat Choudhary for BJP Leadership
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, March 31 (NationPress) Following Nitish Kumar's resignation from the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) position, speculation regarding the next Chief Minister of Bihar has surged.
In this context, Anant Singh, a Janata Dal-United (JD-U) MLA from Mokama, has made a noteworthy declaration about potential candidates to succeed Nitish Kumar.
During a press interaction in Patna on Tuesday, Anant Singh expressed strong support for Nishant Kumar, Nitish Kumar's son, as the most fitting candidate from the JD-U to assume the role of the next Chief Minister of Bihar.
Singh stated, "Nishant (Kumar) is well-educated, competent, and possesses all the necessary attributes to lead Bihar. He is the ideal choice for the Chief Minister's position in Bihar."
He underscored that if the Chief Ministerial position remains within the JD-U, Nishant Kumar should be the logical selection.
Moreover, he acknowledged the likelihood of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) taking the lead in the upcoming state government.
In such a case, Singh identified Samrat Choudhary as the most suitable candidate for the Chief Minister's role.
He remarked, "If the Chief Minister is from the BJP, then Samrat Choudhary would be the perfect choice."
Praising Nitish Kumar's administration, Singh noted that modern Bihar is significantly influenced by his leadership.
"Today's Bihar is the result of Nitish Kumar's governance. Development has occurred across all sectors, and connectivity has seen substantial enhancement," he stated.
Singh also pointed out that individuals across political affiliations wish for Nitish Kumar to maintain his active role in Bihar politics, even as he prepares for a transition to the Rajya Sabha.
In a pointed comment directed at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Bihar's Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, Singh questioned the RJD's political strength.
He claimed that despite grand promises during electoral campaigns, the RJD struggled to secure its standing.
Singh added, "If they (RJD) had obtained even one Assembly seat fewer, they wouldn't have qualified for the Leader of Opposition status."
Recently, Anant Singh met with Nitish Kumar and stated that the Chief Minister shared his belief that moving to the Rajya Sabha was in the best interest of Bihar.
He expressed optimism that future industrial growth would create substantial employment opportunities in the state.
Notably, Anant Singh was granted bail by the Patna High Court concerning the Dularchand Yadav murder case.
