Amaravati, March 10 (NationPress) The government of Andhra Pradesh has revoked the allotment of 12.51 acres of land to Hayagreeva Farms and Developers in Visakhapatnam.
The state authority issued an order on Monday, annulling the allotment made in 2008, due to violations of regulations.
The land was originally designated by the state government for constructing cottages aimed at supporting senior citizens and orphans.
However, investigations conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) uncovered that the land was fraudulently alienated and sold to multiple parties, generating over Rs. 150 crore.
In the government order issued on Monday, the Visakhapatnam District Collector was instructed to reclaim the land from Hayagreeva and repurpose it for public use.
Last month, the ED provisionally attached immovable assets valued at Rs. 42.03 crores and six movable properties worth Rs. 2.71 crore.
The central agency attached properties worth Rs. 44.75 crore under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002.
The ED began its investigation based on an FIR filed by the Arilova Police Station, Visakhapatnam, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code against Gadde Brahmaji, Gannamani Venkateswara Rao, and YSR Congress Party leader and former MP MVV Satyanarayana for forgery, fabrication of sale documents, and coercive actions to illegally obtain the 12.51 acres allotted by the state.
Last year, the ED conducted searches at the residence and properties of former MP and YSRCP leader MVV Satyanarayana.
According to the ED, the investigation revealed that the 12.51 acres of land was registered to Hayagreeva Farms and Developers in 2010 after a payment of approximately Rs. 5.63 crore. However, the market value of the property at the time of the conveyance deed was around Rs. 30.25 crore, according to records from the Andhra Pradesh Registration & Stamps Department.
The investigation indicated that after allegedly acquiring ownership of the land fraudulently, the accused divided the land into smaller plots and began alienating it from 2021 onwards by registering sale agreements and deeds to various individuals. This action resulted in proceeds of crime exceeding Rs. 150 crore, as stated by the ED.
