Amaravati, April 3 (NationPress) - The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, reached out on Thursday with an invitation for Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, to come to Amaravati and delve into the state's aspirations regarding AI-driven innovations.
This invitation was sparked by Altman’s recent comments about India's swift embrace of AI and its imaginative capabilities.
Altman, via a series of posts on the social media platform X, commended India for leading the globe in AI adoption and creativity.
His remarks came in light of the immense worldwide interest in OpenAI’s latest image generation tool, which can produce animations reminiscent of Studio Ghibli.
In response to Altman’s post, CM Naidu conveyed his excitement about India’s burgeoning AI sector and underscored Andhra Pradesh's goals in cutting-edge technologies.
“Absolutely! India is merely at the start of its journey, and Andhra Pradesh is set to evolve into a center for AI-driven innovations. It would be an honor to host you in Amaravati during your next visit to India and share our vision as we craft the future,” Naidu expressed.
He also highlighted the state's commitment to not only AI but also its preparations to lead in quantum technology.
Altman’s interactions with India have garnered significant attention, particularly as OpenAI experiences a remarkable upsurge in demand for its AI-powered tools.
Recently, he showcased an AI-generated anime-style image of himself as a cricket player, showcasing the potential of creative AI applications.
Meanwhile, Altman acknowledged that the acceleration in AI adoption has posed capacity challenges for OpenAI, resulting in delays for new feature launches.
“We are managing the situation, but expect new releases from OpenAI to be postponed, some functionalities to malfunction, and for service speed to occasionally lag as we navigate capacity issues,” the OpenAI CEO remarked on X.
He humorously requested additional GPU resources, highlighting the mounting strain on AI infrastructure due to escalating user demand.
