Cyberabad Police arrested former Andhra Pradesh MLA and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Bolla Brahma Naidu on Friday, 5 June in connection with an alleged conspiracy to illegally acquire prime government land in Hyderabad valued at approximately ₹1,000 crore. Naidu, who had been allegedly absconding as the main accused in the case, was tracked down and apprehended in the Kancheepuram area of Tamil Nadu through a joint operation by Narsinghi Police and the Cyberabad Economic Offences Wing (EoW).

Background of the Case

The case was registered on 23 May at Narsingi Police Station following a complaint filed by Gandipet tahsildar N. Srinivas Reddy. According to police, the alleged conspiracy centred on encroaching upon 10 acres of government land in Survey No. 18 of Gandipet and attempting to regularise it through fabricated Government Orders (G.O.s), forged revenue records, and falsified official documents.

Key Accused and Alleged Financial Transactions

Investigators allege that Bolla Brahma Naidu, along with Bolla Ramesh, Radhakrishna, and members of the Nimmal family, conspired to create fake government orders and forge official records to illegally acquire the land. According to police, evidence collected during the investigation revealed that Brahma Naidu made financial transactions of approximately ₹12 crore as part of the alleged conspiracy.

The alleged distribution of funds, according to investigators, was as follows: ₹4 crore paid to Nimmal family members, ₹4 crore to Radhakrishna, and a further ₹4 crore to other individuals linked to the scheme. These funds were reportedly used to manufacture illegal land rights through forged permits and false documentation.

Court Rejection and Arrest

The arrest came a day after the Telangana High Court rejected Naidu's petition for anticipatory bail, citing the seriousness of the offence, the stage of investigation, and prima facie evidence against him. With the bail route closed, Naidu was subsequently located and arrested in Kancheepuram. Prior to his arrest, several other accused — including Radhakrishna, his driver Prabheen Kumar, and Nimmal family members — had already been taken into custody.

What Happens Next

Bolla Brahma Naidu is currently in police custody and is to be produced before the court as per legal procedure, according to a police release. Investigators say the probe is continuing into financial transactions tied to the case, the fabrication of forged documents, the alleged misappropriation of names and signatures of government officials, and the roles of other individuals potentially involved in the conspiracy.
