Cyberabad Police have dismantled an alleged land fraud operation in which 10 acres of government land in Gandipet, Ranga Reddy district, valued at nearly ₹1,500 crore, was reportedly sold using fabricated Government Orders (G.Os). Three persons were arrested on Friday, 23 May 2025, and a former legislator from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), Bolla Brahma Naidu, has been named as an accused and is reportedly absconding.

How the Scam Unfolded

The case was triggered by a complaint filed on 23 May by Srinivas Reddy, Tahsildar of Gandipet Mandal, who alerted police that forged G.Os were being circulated via WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms. The fabricated documents falsely claimed that government land in Survey No. 18 had been regularised and allotted to private individuals. In total, five fake G.O. copies were identified. A case was subsequently registered at Narsingi Police Station, Cyberabad.

Searches conducted at the residences of the accused yielded bank passbooks, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) documents, mobile phones, and one laptop, all of which have been seized by investigators.

The Accused and Their Alleged Roles

Those arrested are Nimmala Rajesh Goud, Nimmala Venugopal, and Nimmala Sai Kiran — members of the Nimmala family of Gandipet Village, identified as the children of the late Dasarath. According to police, the family had claimed possession over approximately 10 acres of Government Poramboke land in Survey No. 18. They had also approached the High Court with petitions against the Revenue Department seeking relief over the land, but those petitions were dismissed in October 2025.

Despite having no lawful title or ownership, the family allegedly entered into a criminal conspiracy with Bolla Ramesh and former YSRCP MLA Bolla Brahma Naidu to sell the land at ₹3.5 crore per acre, falsely representing themselves as rightful owners. MoUs were executed between the Nimmala family and the Bolla parties as part of the alleged scheme. The Nimmala family members reportedly received nearly ₹4 crore in connection with the proposed transaction.

The conspiracy was allegedly mediated by individuals identified as Sunil and Radhakrishna, both of whom are currently absconding. Bolla Ramesh and Brahma Naidu are also at large, with police stating that efforts to apprehend them are ongoing.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Ch. Srinivas confirmed the arrests and outlined the conspiracy, noting that the accused had allegedly fabricated G.Os to make it appear the government had regularised and allotted the land in their favour. He stated that further investigation is in progress.

This is a notable case involving the alleged misuse of forged official government documents to facilitate a multi-crore land transaction in one of Hyderabad's high-value real estate corridors. The Gandipet area, near the Osman Sagar reservoir, has seen sustained property price appreciation, making government land in the zone a high-stakes target for fraud. The involvement of a former legislator adds a political dimension that is likely to attract scrutiny from both the ruling dispensation and opposition in Telangana.
