Amaravati, Sep 8 (NationPress) - The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, engaged in a conversation with Union Minister J.P. Nadda on Monday regarding the allocation of fertilisers to the state.
The Chief Minister made a request for the allotment of seven rakes of urea from a ship that is set to arrive at Kakinada port. The Union Minister responded positively to this request for fertiliser supply.
During a review meeting with officials at the secretariat, the Chief Minister emphasised that farmers must not face any urea shortages.
Officials reported to him that there are currently 80,503 tonnes of fertilisers available in the state, with an additional 23,592 tonnes of urea expected to arrive within 10 days.
The Chief Minister issued a stern warning against the black marketing of urea, instructing officials to devise plans to ensure adequate urea supply for the upcoming rabi season.
On September 3, he refuted claims of a urea shortage in the state and cautioned that serious consequences would follow for those disseminating false information.
He urged farmers not to be swayed by the misleading narratives propagated by the YSR Congress Party regarding urea and fertiliser shortages, accusing the opposition of trying to create unnecessary panic for political gain.
In another matter, concerning the declining prices of onions, the Chief Minister instructed officials to facilitate the purchase of onions from farmers at a price of Rs 1200 per quintal. Additionally, officials informed him that coffee plantations over 80 acres in the Araku region have been affected by pests, although they are managing to control the pest situation in 60 acres.
While reviewing the health conditions in Turakapalem village of Guntur district, the Chief Minister stated that continuous monitoring of health conditions in the village is necessary to manage the situation effectively.
Later, during a review of the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS), the Chief Minister highlighted the need to enhance public satisfaction regarding the implementation of welfare initiatives, such as free travel for women, pensions, and the free supply of gas cylinders.
He also announced plans for a weekly review of welfare scheme implementations, stressing the importance of effective execution of these programmes.
