Police reported that the assailant gained entry into her home under the pretense of requesting drinking water. He then restrained her with a scarf, gagged her, and proceeded to sexually assault her.
The assault was uncovered when her nephew, unable to reach her by phone, informed his friends. Upon their arrival, they found her unconscious with her hands and feet bound.
She was promptly taken to the hospital, and investigations revealed that the accused was previously known to her.
The suspect, identified as Srinivas, hails from Rajupalem mandal and had formed a connection with the victim through Instagram, which later developed into a closer relationship.
In response to the incident, police established special teams to locate the suspect. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has instructed law enforcement to ensure justice for the victim and uncover the full truth of the incident.
Ultimately, the police apprehended the suspect on Wednesday night and presented him in court the following day.
