Thrissur, April 20 (NationPress) In a shocking development following a devastating tragedy that has rocked the local community, another snake was discovered inside the residence of eight-year-old Aljo, just hours after his family returned home with his body post-mortem, which confirmed that he had succumbed to a snakebite. His elder brother, who also suffered from a snakebite, is currently fighting for his life in the hospital.

This unsettling discovery has amplified the sorrow and anxiety surrounding the incident, leaving relatives and neighbors in a state of disbelief.

What was already a heart-wrenching loss now carries an additional layer of fear, as the home that experienced the tragic incident now appears hazardous once more.

Aljo tragically passed away in the early hours of Sunday when a snake entered their home while the family slept, leaving windows open to alleviate the oppressive heat.

Situated at the foothills of Kodassherimala and adjacent to rubber plantations and forested areas, this locality is known for occasional snake sightings.

However, residents reported that a deadly attack within a home had never occurred here before.

On Monday, as family gathered to mourn and Aljo's body was returned after the post-mortem, panic ensued when another snake was spotted on the property.

Community members quickly intervened, managing to remove the snake, but the incident has raised unsettling questions about the safety of the home and the potential presence of more snakes.

Neighbors remember Aljo as a vibrant and loving child. “He was here just the previous night,” recalled Sunanda, a neighbor, her voice quivering.

“He took cold water from our fridge and promised to return the next day. None of us could have imagined that would be our last moment with him.”

The family is now grappling with grief on two fronts.

While they mourn the loss of their younger son, they cling to hope for the recovery of their elder son, Anosh, who is undergoing treatment after a snakebite on his leg.

Their mother collapsed upon receiving the tragic news and is currently under medical supervision, while their father, Siljo, is utterly devastated, struggling to cope with the loss and the uncertainty surrounding his elder son's health.

Their daughter, Angel, remains in shock. As funeral arrangements proceed, fear has enveloped the neighborhood.

Residents are now calling for immediate action to address the increasing threat posed by wildlife in residential areas, as this family’s tragedy serves as a broader warning for the entire region.
