In his post, Speaker Birla added: "With passing the Civil Services Examination, you embark on a new chapter of responsibilities towards your nation. I am confident that all selected candidates will become formidable partners in the journey towards a developed India through their dedication and capability."
Previously, Anuj Agnihotri had cleared the UPSC examination.
During his first attempt in 2023, he was assigned to the Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Services (DANICS) and began his role as a Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Delhi in December 2024.
In his second attempt, Agnihotri succeeded in the UPSC Mains but did not advance past the interview stage.
Nevertheless, he clinched the top spot in the country during his third attempt.
Following the announcement of the UPSC results, Agnihotri expressed that the journey towards success seems less daunting now after the extensive preparation.
"Had I not succeeded this time, I would have continued to prepare for the next attempt. The UPSC journey has many ups and downs, but today’s success has made it feel much simpler," he remarked.
He also shared that he sought to learn from discussions with various individuals throughout his preparation.
"I prepared for every scenario during the interview, even if it meant being asked to sing a song," he said with a grin.
During the interview process, Agnihotri faced a range of questions related to medical science, given his background in medicine.
He was also questioned about Rajasthan, including inquiries about Mirabai, a historical figure from Chittorgarh, and her spiritual advisor.
Another question pertained to who made Rajasthan's history globally recognized.
Agnihotri responded by referencing James Tod, the historian known for documenting the region's history.
He completed his MBBS from AIIMS Jodhpur in 2023 and had previously secured the 215th rank in the AIIMS All India Medical Entrance Examination in 2017.
His early education took place at the Atomic Energy Central School in Rawatbhata, where he achieved a remarkable 94 percent in Class 12.
Besides academics, he has a keen interest in playing table tennis.
His father, K.B. Agnihotri, is employed at the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station, while his mother, Manju Agnihotri, is a dedicated homemaker.
Expressing immense pride in his son's accomplishment, K.B. Agnihotri stated, "This success is a result of Anuj's commitment and the blessings of our entire family. It is a significant source of pride for us."
Manju Agnihotri shared that she focused on ensuring her son's diet and well-being during his preparation.
Meanwhile, other candidates from Rajasthan also excelled in the examination.
Mayank Purohit from Phalodi achieved the 33rd rank in his fifth attempt, while Saurabh Sharma from Bundi secured the 146th rank.
Ashish Sharma, a government school teacher from Dausa district, attained the 722nd rank in his fourth attempt.
The announcement of the UPSC results has led to celebrations throughout Rajasthan, underscoring the state's increasing prominence in India's esteemed civil services.
