Jaipur, Dec 12 (NationPress) In a notable move against corruption, the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended ASI Bhagaram, who oversees the Pipaliya Kala Police Post (Raipur Police Station, Beawar District), while he was in the act of accepting a bribe amounting to Rs 100,000.

This arrest follows a complaint filed with the ACB, alleging that ASI Bhagaram was pressuring the complainant’s father and soliciting a bribe in return for lodging an FIR connected to a case at Raipur Police Station.

In response to the complaint, the ACB Pali II Unit, guided by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav (ACB Range, Jodhpur), and Additional Superintendent of Police, Khiv Singh (in-charge, ACB Pali II), executed a trap operation that led to the apprehension of the accused.

According to ACB Director General Govind Gupta, ASI Bhagaram had initially requested a bribe of Rs 200,000 and later agreed to take Rs 121,000. During the operation on December 12, 2025, he was caught red-handed accepting Rs 100,000.

“This operation illustrates the bureau’s dedication to eradicating corruption within the police force,” he stated.

He mentioned that the ACB, under the guidance of Additional Director General Smita Srivastava, is currently questioning the accused, with further legal actions underway, and a case is being registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

He added that investigations are ongoing to uncover any additional misconduct and to ensure accountability.

The ACB emphasized that such operations signify the bureau’s zero-tolerance stance towards corruption and its commitment to maintaining transparency and integrity in government institutions.

“This arrest sends a clear message that corrupt practices will not be tolerated, and any public servant involved in such actions will face stringent legal consequences,” Gupta remarked.

He urged citizens to report any instances of corruption, assuring that complaints will be addressed promptly and discreetly to guarantee justice.
