Bhopal, March 17 (NationPress) The solitary Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Transport Department faced an untimely and enigmatic demise at his residence located within the jurisdiction of the Kampoo Police Station in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
Dharamveer Singh, residing alone on South Avenue along Shivpuri Link Road, was found lifeless, prompting inquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Initial theories indicate that excessive alcohol intake might have been a contributing factor. Reports suggest that Singh had previously worked alongside Saurabh Sharma, a former constable turned multi-millionaire, who is currently incarcerated and facing multiple charges from various investigative bodies.
Singh had also been a part of the transport department but had resigned from his position.
Saurabh Sharma's wealth was scrutinized during significant raids conducted by the Lokayukta, Enforcement Directorate, and Income Tax departments; he joined the police force under compassionate grounds following his father's death.
The incident was uncovered in the morning. “We are presently at his residence conducting an investigation,” remarked Rudra Pathak, senior investigation officer and in-charge of Kampoo Police Station, during a phone conversation with IANS.
He noted that the body has been dispatched for a post-mortem, and only after the results and further inquiries will the police ascertain the cause of death.
In the meantime, the connection to Saurabh Sharma has sparked speculation, although authorities have maintained a silence on the matter.
Officers from Kampoo Police Station acted promptly, informing Singh’s family and waiting for the post-mortem report. Although indications of alcohol dependency have surfaced as a potential element, police have refrained from making any conclusive statements, affirming that the post-mortem findings will provide clarity. Investigations are ongoing, and further details are expected.
