Assessment of Grievance Handling on the ‘JK Samadhan’ Portal by J&K Chief Secretary

Jammu, Jan 6 (NationPress) The Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Atal Dulloo, organized a meeting with all Administrative Secretaries and Deputy Commissioners to evaluate the effectiveness of grievance resolution by various departments and the offices of Deputy Commissioners on the ‘JK Samadhan’ grievance portal, as per an official statement released on Sunday.

In the meeting, the Chief Secretary received a live demonstration of the ‘JK Samadhan’ grievance portal to review specific grievances filed by citizens. He utilized this opportunity to examine the timeline for resolving these grievances as well as the quality of responses provided by the relevant departments.

He urged the administrative leaders to assign nodal officers with a rank no lower than Deputy Secretaries to oversee the quality of grievance resolution within their respective departments, the statement noted.

Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of seeking clarifications from citizens instead of hastily closing grievances when the information provided is inadequate for further action, the statement added.

The Chief Secretary also encouraged the district administration to enhance the visibility of the ‘JK Samadhan’ portal among residents, facilitating easier grievance registration.

He also requested an increase in citizen registrations and insisted on uploading all grievances to the portal, including those submitted in physical form.

The Chief Secretary further urged the Department of Public Grievances to provide super access to Administrative heads and Deputy Commissioners to the analytical dashboard relevant to their respective departments and districts. He instructed them to prepare for an AI-enhanced updated version of the portal by February of this year, according to the statement.

During the meeting, the Secretary of Public Grievances, Aijaz Asad, provided a demonstration of the public grievances portal to the Chief Secretary.

He disclosed that a more advanced AI-based version, ‘JK Samadhan 2.0’, is currently in development through BISAG-N, and is expected to be ready by February this year.

As for the action taken report on the previous directives issued by the Chief Secretary, it was noted that an analytical dashboard was created, and its demonstration was also conducted during the meeting. Additionally, it was mentioned that Deputy Commissioners have been granted access to monitor all grievances filed in their districts for prompt resolution.

Furthermore, it was reported that capacity-building programs have been conducted for Master trainers and nodal officers as per earlier directives, as stated in the announcement.

Moreover, offline training sessions are ongoing in various districts to enhance the skills of officers and officials, facilitated by resource persons from this Department.
