Jaipur, April 14 (NationPress) - In a significant crackdown, the Jhalawar Police have executed a pivotal operation named ‘Operation Divya Prahar 2.0’, resulting in the freezing of assets valued at around Rs 5.5 crore belonging to the notorious drug trafficker Bablu Tanwar and his accomplices. Tanwar, who hails from Palkhanda within the Ghatoli police station jurisdiction, is currently on the run and has a bounty placed on him.

As per ASP Bhagchand Meena, this campaign commenced in January 2026, aiming to deliver a decisive strike against drug syndicates.

The initiative emphasizes not just the apprehension of traffickers but also the dismantling of financial assets amassed through illegal drug operations, which are frequently leveraged to exert power and control.

In the last quarter, law enforcement meticulously compiled a proposal under the NDPS Act targeting Bablu Tanwar (son of Gangaram Tanwar), who resides in Palkhanda (Post Sarkhandiya, Police Station Ghatoli, Tehsil Aklera, District Jhalawar).

With the green light from the relevant authorities, directives were issued to permanently freeze his residential properties, farmland, and vehicles.

Officials confirmed that similar measures had previously been taken against him. A confidential inventory of Tanwar’s movable and immovable assets was compiled by the Modus Operandi Bureau at the SP office. This intelligence was relayed to the SHO of Ghatoli police station, laying the groundwork for subsequent actions.

Responding to this intelligence, police acted promptly to identify and freeze assets linked to his illegal earnings. Under the guidance of District Collector Ajay Singh Rathod, officials from the Revenue and PWD departments played a crucial role in verifying property records and determining market valuations.

The findings from their report expedited legal actions. Following all protocols under the NDPS Act, the SHO of Ghatoli obtained formal consent to freeze the assets, effectively barring Bablu Tanwar and his associates from liquidating or utilizing these properties. Meanwhile, police teams remain steadfast in their pursuit to locate and apprehend the fugitive.

Point of View

This operation signifies a robust approach by law enforcement to tackle drug trafficking and its financial ramifications. The proactive measures taken aim not only to arrest criminals but also to dismantle the infrastructure supporting illegal drug trade.
