Property Valued at Rs 50 Lakh Seized from Drug Trafficker in Anantnag, J&K

Srinagar, Dec 10 (NationPress) The police in J&K’s Anantnag district have successfully seized property valued at Rs 50 lakh belonging to a drug trafficker on Tuesday, as reported by officials.

“In a crucial operation against drug trafficking, the Anantnag Police has confiscated a residential property worth Rs 50 lakh that belongs to the infamous drug trafficker, Gh Hassan Bandro, also known as Qasim, who is the son of Wali Mohammad from Sotkipora. This action was undertaken by the Police Station Srigufwara as part of their ongoing intensified efforts to tackle the drug crisis,” an official statement disclosed.

“The accused is a repeat offender with a track record of drug trafficking and is linked to several cases under the NDPS Act at Police Station Srigufwara. These cases underscore his persistent attempts to jeopardize societal health through unlawful activities. The confiscation of his property sends a strong warning to those involved in the illicit drug trade that such actions will face severe consequences,” the police emphasized.

“Anantnag Police is resolute in dismantling drug trafficking networks by targeting their financial assets and operational hubs. The police have reiterated their dedication to eliminating the drug problem and have urged the public to participate by providing any information regarding drug trafficking or associated activities. Community cooperation is crucial for protecting neighborhoods and establishing a drug-free environment,” the statement added.

The J&K Police have been vigorously pursuing terrorists, their over-ground workers (OGWs), and sympathizers to dismantle the network of terrorism.

Security forces assert that proceeds from drug trafficking are partially utilized to finance terrorism and partially to support the drug mafia.

Additionally, drugs are exploited to entice youth into terrorism by ensnaring them through addiction.
