Ranchi, Oct 6 (NationPress) On Monday, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi initiated the Atmanirbhar Bharat, Har Ghar Swadeshi campaign by inscribing slogans on a wall at Birsa Chowk in the capital city of Ranchi.
The event was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Aditya Sahu and numerous BJP workers from around the city. During his address, Marandi emphasized, “Swadeshi in every home is our guiding principle. Party members will engage with citizens nationwide to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India to become a developed nation by 2047. This mission requires a collective effort; it is not the duty of a single individual. Everyone’s involvement and progress are crucial to achieving this.”
He elaborated, “Embracing Swadeshi is significant. It fosters local employment and bolsters domestic industries. Encouraging local enterprises is vital for India’s self-reliance and economic independence. Therefore, the BJP and Prime Minister Modi call upon all citizens to prefer indigenous products.”
Marandi further remarked, “This movement is necessary. Our freedom fighters utilized Swadeshi as a potent instrument. Mahatma Gandhi championed the Salt March, advocated for Khadi, and spun the Charkha to empower Indian citizens financially. If we continue to depend on foreign goods, unemployment will escalate and capital will exit our nation. We must rejuvenate and advocate for the Swadeshi movement to create jobs and strengthen our economy.”
Previously, on September 28, Prime Minister Modi, in the 126th episode of his Mann Ki Baat, urged citizens to adopt Swadeshi on Gandhi Jayanti and take pride in it.
“October 2 is Gandhi Jayanti. Gandhiji always stressed the importance of Swadeshi, with Khadi symbolizing it. Regrettably, post-independence, Khadi lost its charm, but in the last 11 years, interest in Khadi has surged significantly. Sales have experienced substantial growth,” the Prime Minister noted.
On October 5, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also encouraged farmers to heed PM Modi’s call by using only Swadeshi products during a statue unveiling ceremony in Maharashtra’s Ahilyanagar district.
