Bhopal, Sep 19 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Minister and prominent BJP figure Vishwas Sarang participated in a local initiative on Friday, spearheaded by merchants in the Narela Assembly constituency, aimed at promoting the use of 'Swadeshi' products. This initiative resonates with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent call on his birthday, encouraging citizens to opt for domestic products to assist India in achieving its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Local traders in Narela have committed to stocking and selling exclusively Swadeshi goods in their stores. To enhance public awareness, many shops have prominently displayed lists that differentiate between Swadeshi and foreign products.
During an interview with IANS, Sarang expressed: "Our aim is to motivate the public to increasingly embrace Swadeshi options. In response to the Prime Minister's appeal, traders here are seriously undertaking this initiative. They have showcased lists of Swadeshi and foreign products in their establishments. The Prime Minister is a highly regarded leader whose initiatives are broadly embraced by the populace. Traders are already reporting success with this initiative. I encourage everyone to support and adopt Swadeshi."
Earlier this week, in a public gathering celebrating his 75th birthday in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the significance of selecting locally made products during the upcoming festive season.
"This festive season, let us embrace the principle of Swadeshi. I earnestly request my 140 crore fellow citizens — everything you purchase should be made in India. It should embody the labor and dedication of an Indian. It should carry the essence of our motherland’s soil," he stated.
PM Modi had urged the trader community to lead by example.
"I particularly appeal to my trader brothers and sisters—join me in this mission. Stand with me for the enhancement of our nation. I aspire to see India transformed into a developed country by 2047. The path to this objective is through Atmanirbhar Bharat and a self-reliant India," he added.
Since 2014, under PM Modi’s guidance, initiatives like Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Vocal for Local have underscored domestic manufacturing, decreased foreign reliance, and supported startups and MSMEs, revitalizing Swadeshi values and economic nationalism.
