New Delhi, May 10 (NationPress) Retired Indian Air Force Wing Commander Praful Bakshi stated on Saturday that India’s battle is fundamentally against terrorism, asserting that Pakistan is openly supporting and facilitating these acts. He praised the Indian armed forces for their precise strikes under 'Operation Sindoor' and highlighted that to achieve a lasting solution, India should focus on seizing Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
In an interview with IANS, Bakshi remarked, "There is ongoing tension and constant surveillance on both sides. Initially, our fight was against terrorism, but Pakistan has intervened. They are supporting terrorism, and we are monitoring their actions. The main objective must be to capture PoK, the area from which they launch terrorist operations."
He pointed out the limited effect of tactical strikes along the Line of Control, noting that while launch pads and Pakistani Army posts can be destroyed, they are easily replaceable. This reality calls for a more audacious and strategic response.
"Terrorists originate from PoK, and the sleeper cells provide them with VIP treatment. They linger for extended periods while conducting their operations and then return to PoK. By capturing PoK, Pakistan's activities will shift to their own territory, freeing us from these threats," he emphasized.
Wing Commander Bakshi condemned the Pakistan Army, labeling it the mastermind and beneficiary of terrorism.
"Pakistan promotes terrorism and fractures unity in the name of religion. The Pakistan Army manages figures like Masood Azhar, profiting immensely from such operations. They install puppet leaders to carry out their terror agendas," he added.
He called for decisive, long-term measures, urging India to transition from mere reaction to dismantling the entire terror infrastructure supported by Pakistan's military establishment through a strategic approach targeting the sources of cross-border terrorism.
