New Delhi, May 5 (NationPress) The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Waris Pathan urged the government to empower the Indian armed forces to not only enter Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) but also to seize control of it, asserting that the territory rightfully belongs to India.
In a special discussion with IANS, the AIMIM national spokesperson stated: “The entire nation is demanding a strong response against Pakistan for the heinous killing of victims in Pahalgam. It’s time that India not only enters Pakistan-occupied Kashmir but also maintains a presence there and captures it as it is our land.”
Pathan referenced a survey indicating that 75% of citizens seek decisive action against Pakistan, advocating for a response that is more forceful than previous retaliations following the Uri and Pulwama incidents. He emphasized that the government must act resolutely to hold the terror-sponsoring nation accountable.
Addressing the ‘religion-based killings’ in Pahalgam, the AIMIM leader condemned the barbarity of targeting individuals based on their faith and identities, highlighting the gruesome manner in which family members were singled out and murdered in front of their loved ones.
“What is preventing the government from taking action against Pakistan?” he questioned, reaffirming that all opposition parties had supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the all-party meeting.
His comments followed remarks by AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, who called for a more assertive stance against terrorism, suggesting the need to not only destroy terror launchpads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir but also to establish a permanent presence there.
“Ghar mein ghus ke baith jao,” was his directive to the Centre regarding the necessary actions against terrorism. He insisted on the importance of seizing PoK to end ongoing terrorist threats.
“The BJP says - ghar mein ghus ke. I am saying - ghar mein ghus ke baith jao. This terrorism must cease,” he expressed to reporters when asked if India should resolve the issue definitively.
