Kolkata, Aug 2 (NationPress) The BJP’s West Bengal unit is set to initiate a digital assessment of its organizational strength at both the booth and district levels over the next few months.
BJP insiders revealed that while both district and booth-level strengths will be evaluated, the primary focus will be on the booth-level to confirm that members of a specific booth-level committee are indeed voters from that booth.
On August 4, the BJP plans to host a training session for participants involved in this upcoming digital assessment.
A preliminary ground-level survey has already been undertaken by a team of state BJP leaders across various districts in West Bengal, where surveyors visited booth levels to gather grassroots insights on the actual organizational strength.
According to BJP sources, “The digital survey will serve as a follow-up to address any oversights from the physical survey, aiming to solidify the grassroots organizational structure of the party before the pivotal West Bengal Assembly elections next year.”
The initial phase of the digital survey has commenced, with booth-committee members instructed to upload scanned copies of both sides of their Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) to a central server managed by the party’s state leadership.
“This initial step will verify whether a member of a specific booth-level committee is also a voter of that booth,” the sources stated.
Additionally, the state BJP leadership intends to conduct random audits to confirm the authenticity of the data uploaded onto the central server.
Sources from the state committee mentioned that preparations for the crucial Assembly elections next year have commenced much earlier compared to previous cycles.
“Creating an organizational network comparable to that of the ruling Trinamool Congress is essential for electoral success, which is why this time, leadership is concentrating on identifying and correcting existing weaknesses in the party's organizational structure in the state,” the sources noted.
