Bengaluru Man and Accomplice Arrested for Extorting Boyfriend with Private Images

Bengaluru, Dec 24 (NationPress) The Bengaluru Police have taken into custody a man and his accomplice on accusations of extortion and threatening his boyfriend by threatening to unveil his private photos and videos, according to police statements on Tuesday.
The arrests followed a complaint submitted to the Economic Offences Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Bengaluru.
As per the complaint, the accused, who operates an electronics shop in the area, had forged a friendship with the complainant and eventually moved in with him.
The two were involved in a live-in relationship.
During their time together, the accused established a hotel and bar under the complainant's name in Attibele, a town on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
The accused allegedly recorded their private moments and coerced the complainant into attending couple parties, where he reportedly pressured him to engage with other men.
In 2021, when the complainant declined these demands, he ended the relationship and began living independently.
Post-separation, the accused continued to threaten the complainant.
In September 2024, in collaboration with a hotel employee, the accused sent private photos of the complainant to his mobile in the form of a one-time viewing link.
The employee subsequently contacted the victim, claiming to possess private videos, and demanded money to maintain silence.
The accused also reached out to the complainant, pressuring him to meet his demands.
During the investigation, police detained the accused from the Jayanagar area in Bengaluru and Bhadravathi in Shivamogga district.
The police confiscated seven mobile phones and a laptop from the accused.
The suspects were presented in court and placed under three days of police custody.
Upon concluding the investigation, the accused were shifted to judicial custody.
During interrogations, police discovered that the accused had organized couple parties where illegal activities transpired.
It was also uncovered that the accused had amassed private and obscene videos and photos of other women, using them to threaten and extort.
