Bhubaneswar, April 18 (NationPress) On Friday, Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja presided over a significant preparatory conference at Lok Seva Bhawan to guarantee that this year's globally celebrated Ratha Yatra in Puri is carried out in a calm and well-organized manner.
During the conference, the Chief Secretary instructed the Odisha Police and all relevant departments to operate with exactness, ensuring that no detail is overlooked in preparations for the seamless execution of Ratha Yatra 2025.
Ahuja stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to sustain order and security throughout the magnificent festival.
Present at the meeting were Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Dr. Arvind Kumar Padhee, secretaries from various departments, senior state officials, and members of the Odisha police.
Additionally, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Satyabrata Sahu, Principal Secretary to the Works Department, Puri District Collector, Puri Superintendent of Police, and other officials attended virtually.
The authorities engaged in detailed discussions regarding the installation of CCTV cameras at critical points in Puri for effective traffic management, ensuring sufficient police personnel for efficient crowd control, and operating an Integrated Command Control Centre to enhance coordination among various departments facilitating services for effective traffic and crowd management during the nine-day grand festival.
Officials highlighted the need for timely completion of the construction of all three chariots, ensuring smooth coordination during the pulling of the chariots to prevent any incidents or delays.
The meeting also concentrated on making special arrangements for visiting dignitaries and VIP guests, alongside the preparation of the Grand Road (Bada Danda) in Puri for the smooth passage of the sacred chariots.
All departments were urged to execute their responsibilities diligently to provide a seamless and spiritually fulfilling Rath Yatra experience for millions of devotees.
The holy triad - Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra - will commence a nine-day journey to the Gundicha Temple on June 27 this year.
