Bhubaneswar, June 22 (NationPress) Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has declared that the state government is fully prepared to ensure an incident-free Rath Yatra in the revered city of Puri, set to commence on June 27.

During a crucial high-level review meeting focused on security measures, CM Majhi emphasized, "Our primary objective is to facilitate a safe and smooth Rath Yatra. Officials have confirmed that all essential preparations for a trouble-free event are in place."

He pointed out that one of the key elements for achieving an incident-free Rath Yatra is the deployment of sufficient police personnel and administrative support.

CM Majhi insisted that inadequate manpower should not be a reason for potential disturbances.

He also mentioned that the Odisha Police plans to utilize artificial intelligence and drone technology during the Rath Yatra, which will be vital for prompt response and prevention of any adverse incidents.

In his address, CM Majhi urged authorities to maintain heightened vigilance during the Rath Yatra, Suna Besha (Golden Attire), and Bahuda Yatra (Return Car Festival).

He instructed the relevant authorities to ensure sufficient deployment of fire services and traffic personnel.

"Strict surveillance on the crowd using binoculars from watch towers and high buildings along the Bada Danda or grand road is necessary to prevent any unfortunate incidents. The government is also considering the deployment of NSG (National Security Guard) snipers," CM Majhi stated.

He added that measures will be in place to prevent the spread of rumors to avert stampede-like situations during the Rath Yatra, which is anticipated to attract a large number of devotees.

The Chief Minister noted that appropriate actions have been taken to address any potential terrorist threats during the festival following Operation Sindoor.

CM Majhi also advised the authorities to focus on preventing food preparation at roadside stalls along the Grand Road to mitigate fire hazards.

Additionally, he instructed officials to ensure that hotels along the Grand Road are equipped with fire extinguishers.

Adequate lifeguards and fishermen will be stationed to prevent any maritime accidents during the Rath Yatra, he confirmed.

The Coast Guard has been requested to remain vigilant and increase patrolling to thwart any maritime threats.

He underscored the importance of aerial surveillance via helicopters during the grand festival.

Given the favorable weather conditions, CM Majhi expressed that the sacred coastal city of Puri may experience a record influx of devotees this year.

He urged the relevant authorities to set up mobile hospitals and accident recovery vans along national highways and roads leading to Puri.

Free-flowing corridors will be established on the Grand Road to facilitate the smooth transit of ambulances and fire service vehicles, CM Majhi noted.

In light of the ongoing diarrhoea situation in various regions of the state, the Chief Minister recommended that local administrations ensure the availability of fresh food and clean drinking water for the devotees.
