Patna, April 12 (NationPress) Union Minister of Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated on Saturday that the commitment to create a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India) is an unwavering resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. To realize this ambitious vision, both NDA administrations -- at the Centre and in Bihar -- are collaboratively striving towards establishing a "Viksit Bihar" (Developed Bihar).
He emphasized that under PM Modi's guidance, Bihar has been granted and is still benefiting from a multitude of development initiatives and welfare projects. Concurrently, various public welfare schemes are being executed under the leadership of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he remarked.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan added: "April 24 is significant as it marks Panchayati Raj Day. On this day, Prime Minister Modi will revisit Bihar to unveil several new development projects for the populace. Union Minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh, who oversees the Panchayati Raj Ministry, will also be present at the event. A national-level conference of elected Panchayati Raj representatives will be conducted, linking participants from all over the nation."
He mentioned that the conference will not only welcome Panchayati Raj representatives from every state but will also feature the inauguration and foundation laying of various schemes, ensuring that people in rural Bihar will gain from multiple rural development initiatives.
Highlighting accomplishments, the Union Minister pointed out that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 7.90 lakh houses were allocated to residents in Bihar last year.
"This year, an additional 5.30 lakh houses will be distributed. Furthermore, those who have already acquired homes will participate in a ‘Griha Pravesh’ (housewarming) ceremony,” he stated.
Union Minister Chouhan also assessed the progress of the Rural Development Ministry during his visit to Patna. He commended the Bihar government for the successful execution of rural schemes under Nitish Kumar’s administration.
He congratulated the state for this achievement and shared that over 3 lakh women have become ‘Lakhpati Didis’ in Bihar, aiming to reach 20 lakh by the end of this year. Earlier in the day, the minister participated in a review meeting concerning PM Modi’s forthcoming visit to Bihar.
