Patna, Feb 27 (NationPress) Following the swearing-in of seven BJP legislators as ministers in the Bihar Cabinet, numerous existing ministers have seen their portfolios either diminished or reassigned.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has lost the Road Construction, Mines & Geology, and Art, Culture & Youth Departments in the reshuffle executed on Thursday.

He now retains only the Mines & Geology and Agriculture departments.

Prem Kumar has been stripped of his responsibilities for Environment, Forest & Climate Change and now oversees solely the Cooperation Department. Nitish Mishra, who previously held the Tourism and Industry ministries, will now focus solely on the Industry Ministry.

Nitin Naveen has lost his two portfolios in Urban Development and Law. He has been assigned to manage the Road Construction Department.

Mangal Pandey held two portfolios: Agriculture and Health. He will continue to oversee Health while also taking on the Ministry of Law.

The recent cabinet reshuffle in Bihar has notably diminished the power of Hindustani Awam Morcha Secular (HAMS), which is led by Jitan Ram Manjhi.

His son, Santosh Kumar Suman, who previously managed three portfolios, has been reduced to just one following the departmental redistribution.

Suman has been removed from the Information Technology and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Welfare ministries and now only oversees the Minor Water Resources Ministry.

The day after the swearing-in of seven BJP legislators, the party announced the allocation of departments to them.

Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary arrived at the Chief Minister’s residence with a list of departments that were handed over to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Sanjay Saraogi has been proposed for the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, which was previously managed by Dilip Jaiswal, who resigned on Wednesday.

The Mines and Geology Department has been added to Vijay Kumar Sinha's responsibilities alongside the Agriculture Ministry.

Additionally, Renu Devi has retained the Animal and Fisheries Resources Department.

Likewise, Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu will keep the PHED; Nitish Mishra (Industry); Janak Ram (Scheduled Caste and Tribe); Hari Sahni (Backward and Extremely Backward Class Welfare); Krishnanandan Paswan (Sugarcane Industry); Kedar Gupta (Panchayati Raj); Surendra Mehta (Sports); Santosh Singh (Labour Resources); and Santosh Suman has been appointed as the minister of the Minor Water Resources Department.
