Patna, June 15 (NationPress) The Hindustan Awam Morcha (Secular), under the leadership of Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, held its National Council meeting on Sunday at Hotel RR Grand in Bihar's Banka.

The primary focus of the gathering was to devise strategies for the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections and to strengthen the party's organisational framework down to the booth level.

A noteworthy aspect of the event was the uncontested re-election of Minister Santosh Kumar Suman as the National President of the party.

Suman, who currently holds the position of Minister of Minor Water Resources in Bihar, received a renewed mandate to lead the party.

Additionally, Rajesh Kumar Pandey was appointed as the Principal General Secretary, while Kamta Rishiashan took on the role of Treasurer.

These appointments were announced by Prof. D.N. Sinha of Patna University, who served as the election officer for the party.

Despite the submission of three nominations on Saturday, no opposing candidates emerged, allowing all key positions to be filled without contest.

The National Council also passed two important resolutions, which included granting authority to the party patron and national president to make decisions regarding alliances and seat sharing, along with the power to expand the organization as necessary.

These resolutions signify the party's commitment to remain adaptable in the shifting political landscape while ensuring grassroots empowerment—especially among Dalits, backward classes, and marginalized communities.

During his address, Jitan Ram Manjhi stressed the importance of enhancing the party's network at the booth level throughout Bihar.

He recognized that the party's influence is relatively weak in certain districts and emphasized that targeted efforts are being made in those areas.

“This meeting has been organized to prepare for the upcoming Assembly elections. Our goal is to energize the organization down to the booth level and strengthen our support among Dalits and disadvantaged sections,” said Manjhi.

Manjhi noted that Banka was specifically chosen as the venue because it represents a region where the party needs to broaden its reach.

He remarked that district presidents, block-level leaders, and enthusiastic workers from across Bihar, along with party officials from other states, participated in the meeting.
