Patna, Nov 4 (NationPress) As Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), rolled out a new series of pledges on the final day of phase one campaigning, the BJP ridiculed him along with the Mahagathbandhan, asserting that the coalition is destined for a significant loss.
In a pointed response to Yadav's proposals, BJP MP Ravi Kishan accused the Mahagathbandhan of making unrealistic declarations driven by desperation.
“With the understanding that the Mahagathbandhan is on the brink of a crushing defeat, they continue to announce new schemes daily,” he remarked, deriding the RJD’s electoral promises.
BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain stated, “Tejashwi Yadav is acutely aware that the Mahagathbandhan is facing a significant loss in this election. Currently, RJD and Congress members are clashing over various constituencies…”
Earlier today, Tejashwi Yadav emphasized that his party’s ambition is to create a “prosperous Bihar” while empowering both farmers and women through focused welfare initiatives.
“Our objective is to foster a prosperous Bihar. Today, we've announced several initiatives for farmers... The electricity utilized by farmers for irrigation will be provided free of charge. All the PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies) involved in irrigation will also be recognized as energy suppliers,” Yadav explained.
The RJD leader additionally assured a special procurement incentive for farmers.
“For procurement, farmers will obtain Rs 300 over the MSP for paddy and Rs 400 over the MSP for wheat,” he declared.
Among his most significant electoral commitments was a direct cash transfer of Rs 30,000 to women under the ‘Mai Bahin Maan Yojana’.
“On Makar Sankranti, immediately following Kharwas — on 14th January — under the Mai Bahin Maan Yojana, Rs 30,000 will be directly credited to the bank accounts of mothers and sisters,” Tejashwi stated.
This announcement is viewed as a substantial endeavor by the RJD-led alliance to attract women and rural voters, two critical demographics in Bihar’s electoral environment.
The BJP has consistently dismissed the RJD’s welfare commitments as mere “electoral gimmicks”, while the opposition coalition argues that its strategy emphasizes social justice, women's empowerment, and economic rejuvenation in Bihar.
