Patna, Feb 17 (NationPress) In light of the recent stampede incident at New Delhi Railway Station, the East Central Railway (ECR) has adopted new strategies to enhance the safety and comfort of pilgrims traveling to Prayagraj Maha Kumbh from Gaya Railway Junction.

ECR has introduced a dedicated Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Special Train that will now operate at regular intervals to cater to the influx of pilgrims.

As informed by station manager Vinod Kumar, this special train will make stops at Aurangabad, Dehri, Sasaram, Bhabua, Chandauli, Deendayal Upadhyay, Chunar, Mirzapur, Vindhyachal, Manda, Meja, Naini, and Prayagraj railway station.

He further stated that over 100 new CCTV cameras are being set up at Gaya Junction to closely monitor crowd movements and bolster security. A dedicated control room has also been established at Gaya railway station, operational until February 28, to manage safety and crowd control.

“We have advised pilgrims to board trains in an orderly manner. A high-level meeting chaired by Gaya DM Tyagarajan SM was held on Sunday night, where Gaya City SP Ramanand Kumar Kaushal was appointed as the Senior Nodal Officer responsible for crowd management,” Kumar stated.

Gaya DM Tyagarajan SM and SSP Anand Kumar conducted thorough inspections of all platforms, held discussions with railway, GRP, and RPF officials, and issued essential crowd control instructions on Monday.

In Patna district, Danapur DRM has communicated with Patna district magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh, requesting adequate security personnel at key railway stations.

Following this request, the Patna district administration has escalated police and magistrate presence at Patna Junction, Danapur, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, and Patliputra Junction.

The administration has also enhanced security measures at Mahavir Temple and Karbighiya Gate entrances at Patna Junction.

In the wake of the Delhi stampede, both railway authorities and district administrations are on high alert, ensuring a secure and seamless travel experience for all Maha Kumbh pilgrims.
